Japanese company comes up with a washable smartphone

Japanese company Kyocera, known for making tough and durable phones, has come with a smartphone that you can wash. The DIGNo rafre is an android phone with a waterproof coating that can protect the phone from soap foam and even hot water. In other words if you are a stickler for cleanliness, you can use hot water and soap to thoroughly disinfect your smartphone.

The display is protected by Asahi’s Dragontrail X glass, and can be used with wet hands. Furthermore, it also boasts a self-healing back cover that can automatically repair minor scratches.

The smartphone running on Android 5.1 Lollipop is set to go on sale in Japan on December 11. It is priced at ¥57,420, which is roughly Rs 31,000. The Kyocera DIGNO rafre is like a dream come true for those who get nightmares about their bacteria-filled smartphones, unfortunately there is no word on whether this smartphone will ever be available in other markets.
