There is no word about Indian pricing yet, though the iPhone 6s US pricing starts at $199 for 16GB variant and goes all the way up to $399 for the 128GB variant on a two-year contract. However, price for unlocked iPhone 6s starts from $650 (approximately Rs 42,500). Similarly, the iPhone 6s Plus US pricing starts at $299 for 16GB variant and goes all the way up to $499 for the 128GB variant on a two-year contract. Specs wise, the iPhone 6S has a 4.7-inch LED-backlit HD display and the iPhone 6S plus had a 5.5-inch display running at a resolution of 1334×750 pixels. The screen is protected by Ion-strengthened glass along with oleophobic coating. Under the hood is Apple’s A9 64-bit 1.5GHz processor paired with M9 motion coprocessor and 2GB of RAM. The iPhone 6s is available in three storage variants – 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.
In terms of photography, the iPhone 6s comes with an upgraded 12-megapixels camera with True Tone dual LED flash. It supports 4K video recording and slow motion video recording 720p at 240fps. The front-facing FaceTime HD camera has also been bumped to 5-megapixels and it supports 1080p video recording. There is also Retina Flash wherein the display turns bright to give you more light, similar to a true tone flash.
It features an 1810mAh non-removable Li-Po battery, and connectivity options such as 4G LTE , Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. On the software front it comes shipped with Apple’s iOS 9 out-of-the-box.
Other features such as Touch ID fingerprint sensor and Apple Pay are present. Apple has also included Force Touch (3D Touch) feature that the New MacBook and MacBook pro comes equipped with. It can three different types of taps – a tap, a press and a deep press. The iPhone 6s will be available in four color options – Space Grey, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold. It is expected to go on sale from September 25 in the US, but there is no word about Indian availability yet.
