We all know that Apple is working on a large-screened iPad, which it is expected to launch later this year. First spotted by GiszmoChina on Weibo, a post claims that this device will be called the iPad Plus and has also leaked it’s specifications.
The leaked photos show a sketch of the tablet, as well as a photo comparing the tablet to the iPad 2 and iPad mini. The post further claims that the iPad Plus will only be 7mm thick and will weigh less than 700 grams. It is a tad thicker and heavier than the iPad Air 2 launched last year, which is only 6.1mm and weighs 437 grams.
Additionally, the post also claims that the iPad Plus will boast a 12.9-inch display with 2K resolution, and making sure everything is ticking inside will be a monstrous 11,000mAh battery. This is nearly 50 percent bigger than any battery in Apple’s current lineup. As with all rumors however, we advise you to take it with the proverbial pinch of salt.
From what we have heard so far, the tablet will be powered by an A8X processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and feature an anti-reflective screen coating, and come in different color options, much like iPhones. The tablet is also likely to run on a “hybrid” version of iOS which will have support for several OS X’s features including multitasking and more. A recent leak also suggests that the iPad could also come with stylus support.
