Apple took the stage today at their headoffice at Cupertino to unveil New iPad Air, iPad Mini and Macs. Along with these, Apple stated that Mac OS X Yosemite will be available on Mac App Store today for no cost! So keep checking your Mac App Store and it could be live any time soon! What all do you need to do to upgrade to Yosemite safely. Here are some tips –
1.Make sure that you have Mac that is listed below-
iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
Xserve (Early 2009)
Though there is a very less chance of data loss, make sure you have a backup of your Mac.
3. Make a copy of software you downloaded just now –
As soon as you download the file, which is slightly over 5 GB, you will see a screen as shown on top. Just wait! Don’t hit install now. Make a copy of it before installing by copying it onto a external hard drive or pen drive.
