Sony announces Xperia Z3 lineup at IFA 2014


Yesterday, Sony had announced a couple of devices under its Xperia Z3 lineup including its flagship of the year. Here’s a quick overview-

Sony Xperia Z3

Sony has provided Xperia Z3 with a 5.2-inch full HD display, which it claims to be the “world’s brightest display of leading premium smartphones.” The smartphone is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM.

Other features include a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with a 25mm wide angle lens and an extra-high ISO light sensitivity. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. One new feature however is the PS4 Remote Play, which essentially lets you use the Xperia Z3 as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact


The Xperia Z3 Compact is essentially a compact version of Sony’s latest flagship smartphone. The device features a 4.6-inch 720p display and will be powered by the same 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. It also has the same 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a similar design language with the curved edges. Other specifications and features too remain the same.

Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact


Sony’s Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is an 8-inch tablet, which the company claims is the thinnest waterproof tablet in the world. It is ultra-slim at 6.4mm and weighs only 270 grams. It also boasts IP65/68 waterproof and dustproof certification. Users get a full HD 1080p display and is powered a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. Also included are 8.1-megapixel rear camera, 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 4,500mAh battery.
