Huawei’s is set to launch the Ascent Mate 2 at the CES 2014 as Engadget (Chinese) has leaked online a set of pictures of the upcoming device.
The Ascent Mate 2 will will have a slightly tweaked design slight and could be even thinner than the previous model. The photos also highlight the presence of a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel primary camera. The settings for the camera in the leaked photos show that it will be able to take pictures in 10-megapixel resolution as well.
What looks disappointing is the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is relatively an older version of the software. The UI will be coated with Huawei’s own Emotion skin. Also, it is likely that the Ascent Mate 2 does not get an upgrade on the display front, and could possibly feature a 6.1-inch 720p display as was seen on the previous model.
