BlackBerry might bring Android Play Store to your BB device with the 10.2.1 update, suggests photo leak

BlackBerry Android play store

All the BlackBerry users out there, here’s a good news! According to this picture above, BlackBerry might bring the Android Play Store to its devices with the BB OS10.2.1 update.

Although BlackBerry has made tools available for developers to easily port their Android and iOS apps to BB10, the efforts haven’t been entirely successful. Now rumor has it that the company’s upcoming software version – BB 10.2.1 OS – will offer accessibility to the Google Play Store on compatible devices. A member of Crackberry forum has posted a set of images which show a BlackBerry Z10 running on the upcoming BB 10.2.1 OS update with support for the Google Play Store.

Though BlackBerry has not yet confirmed this, but considering its recent announcement of putting off the buyout plan and accepting $1 billion funds instead, the company might just bring the Android’s Play Store flavor to its BB10 compatible devices with this new OS update. Also knowing that BlackBerry users have always been deprived of good apps on the BlackBerry World store, this might help the company in enticing customers and in surviving for some more time.
